Chippenham urges Michelle Donelan to vote to reopen the Dubs Amendment

The people of Chippenham, Corsham, Melksham, Bradford on Avon and the surrounding villages ask Michelle Donelan to cast her vote in favour of re-opening the Dubs Amendment. The vote next Tuesday 7th March will ask MPs to decide the UKs stance on resettling unaccompanied child refugees in Europe.

Why is this important?

These children have fled and survived things most of us cannot possibly imagine. Many now find themselves sleeping rough or living in overcrowded camps without adequate resources. These children are at huge risk of trafficking and abuse and deserve our protection.

In the previous vote Michelle Donelan voted in favour of limiting the Dubs scheme to only 150 additional children and not opening the scheme to unaccompanied child refugees currently stuck in Italy or Greece. Thousands of refugee children are alone and in need of protection across Europe and the Dubs Amendment was put in place to bring up to 3000 children to safety in the UK. To stop the scheme at just over 10% of this number is unacceptable.

Michelle Donelan is our representative in this debate and her decision to vote to end the Dubs Amendment was not representative of the views of the people in her constituency.

Please sign to show your support for these children and ensure Michelle Donelan acts as an accurate representative of our wishes.

How it will be delivered

Petition to be delivered by email on Monday 6th March accompanied by a phone call.
