Companies Dividends Bankruptcy and Sewage

The Government should make it illegal to pay dividends to shareholders while Water Utilities Companies are still dumping sewage in rivers and definitely illegal to pay dividends to shareholders when you are on the verge of bankruptcy as for example Thames Water are, who owe in excess of £15 million. If nearly bankrupt you don't have the profit to give to shareholders and any money you do have should first be spent on cleaning up your act.

Why is this important?

Dividends should be the result of profitability and you cannot say you are profitable while failing to provide adequate Public services and dumping sewage in our rivers or pay dividends while simultaneously approaching insolvency.
