Without consent of residents the council introduced a "Loading Only" zone in St. Margarets Place. This was done at the behest of the hotel when they complained they did not have enough parking space. This has legitimised parking and unloading of vehicles in the road making it difficult for residents to use the street.

Ward councillors met residents to discuss the problem. A meeting with the hotel has been proposed. This could take in early January.

Residents want the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton to stop clogging St. Margarets Place with lorries, vans and cars every time an exhibition takes place in the hotel's exhibition halls. This has been a sore issue for many years. The hotel won't control it and the council fail to do so. Resident power is all that is left. Sign our petition in support of this campaign.
