We call upon Sheffield City Council to create a properly constituted and resourced Citizens’ Assembly to determine how Sheffield will meet the key Tyndall Report recommendation and become Zero Carbon by 2030. We also call upon the council to make an operational plan for the Citizens’ Assembly public by the end of April 2020 and that the first meeting of this Citizens’ Assembly will be held before the end of June 2020, and for the council to be led by its findings.
Why is this important?
Sheffield City Council has so far failed to deliver the Citizen's Assembly on the climate emergency that it promised to organise before the end of 2019.
