Direct flights from Aberdeen Scotland to Sofia Bulgaria
Dear Sir/Madam,
The reason , we want to start this Petition and represent it at your attention is because Bulgarian and Scottish citizens, living in the North Scotland, including the areas of Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Angus, Perth and Kinrose, Highland are deprived of the right to direct air transport from northern Scotland to Bulgaria
First, the direct flights from Bulgaria to Scotland are too limited.There are only 2(two)regular flights per week from Sofia,Bulgaria to Edinburgh,Scotland run by Ryanair.The flights are always overloaded cannot be found seats months in advance .
Also the distance from the Edinburgh airport to Aberdeen,Aberdeenshire,Moray is too long- more than 200 miles.It takes more than 5-7 hours from Edinburgh getting home, if the person lives ( for Exemple )in Inverness,Elgin or Fraserburgh.We have to book a hotel or taking private car or taxi.Many times is more expensive than airticket.
Second,another alternative from Aberdeen to Bulgaria are flights with transfer, for exemple KLM. We have to change flight in Amsterdam.It cost us more troubles: time,money,lost flights, luggage,stress....
Third,there are definitely more than 3000 Bulgarian citizens, who are living,working or studying in North Scotland. The agricultural workers who work on farms in Scotland are mainly in Aberdeenshire,Angus,P&K, Highlands and Moray. The difficult transport from Bulgaria to Aberdeen is also the reason why farms there suffer from a lack of Workers.We are cut off too far from an airport with direct access to our country; our loved ones who are elderly, sick or children are harder to get around.We are deprived of the right to comfortable and affordable air transport.
Fourth,The busyness relationship between Bulgaria and Scotland will be more flexable.Not only the Bulgarians need this access, but the Scots also need it. Many Scotish Families have properties in Bulgaria.Also busyness contacts and good exchange of tourists will improve and wiil be benefit for many.
There are direct flights from Aberdeen to Varna,Bulgaria ,run by "Bulgarian holidays" but these are charters only run during the Summer season - off course, overloaded,no seats and too expensive.Bulgaria is not only Summer tourist destination,but all seasons as well-ski resorts,SPA mineral springs ,history,caves, birds watching...More Bulgarian tourists would visit the North Scotland too.
With this Petition we'd like to be supported by Bulgarian autorities,mentioned above,to represent it and negotiate with the low budget aircrafts as Ryanair,Wizz air and Easy jet.

Why is this important?
Each of us wants to have comfortable and affordable transportation. In this case, it is a direct air transport from Aberdeen to Bulgaria, the airport closest to where he lives and works. This will facilitate flights to and from Edinburgh - Sofia, which are always overloaded and there are no seats for months ahead. The restriction of only 2 times a week to fly by direct transport between Bulgaria and Scotland will be lifted. We need at least 2 more weekly direct flights from Aberdeen Airport to Sofia.
