The bottom line, in my opinion, is that there is no suitable route for heavy construction traffic to the site of the solar farm, as all routes have to pass through rural villages with unsuitable roads. But this just underlines the poor choice of the site.
If you’ve not already done so, please consider signing this petition and making a comment on the Melton Borough Council planning site (just type ‘solar’ into the search box). Or, if you have already commented on the MBC site, do so again with your thoughts on the new route.

Don't spoil the Vale of Belvoir
Refuse the planning application for the installation of a solar farm close to Barkestone and Plungar in the Vale of Belvoir, Ref. No: 20/01182/FUL.
Why is this important?
Two of our local MPs, Alicia Kearns and Robert Jenrick are campaigning to have the Vale of Belvoir recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) but, at the same time there is a planning application to cover over 74 hectares (over 183 acres, or 743,000 square metres) in solar panels (this petition does not take into account a second proposed solar farm between Muston and Bottesford).
