Enough is enough! Increase child maintenance! Take the responsibility and help raising the children

Because it would change lives of millions of women and children

Currently if a family is resolved and a mother has 100% custody she is expected to somehow find the money and cover for everything! Clothes, food, any medical needs, take days off work when a child is ill, cover nursery/school fees any bills, organise all the pickups and drop offs. Keep the roof over their heads and provide the livable conditions. Absolutely everything is her responsibility! The nursery fees of approx £70 a day for on a full time basis for one child below 4 could be £1600 alone!!! A child on average requires approx £200 month for food, vitamins and supplements, second hand clothes and toys and essentials would make another £100. For absolute basics a child needs £1900. As the time goes and nursery fees drop, the situation gets better and the sum required for a childs basic needs would become around £1300. On overage if a father is claiming to get minimum wage he is paying approx £225 a month! A father is equally responsible for the child and that is just an absolute joke ! That is the lowest child maintenance payment in Europe! The parents should equally cover the costs and the new system of calculating the child maintenace should be reintroduced regardless of the parents so claimed wage! If the government has the sum they think an adult can live off so they need to look at also what sum is required to fulfil childs basic needs. If that would be £1000 a month then it should be split between the 2 parents and so each should be expected to provide £500 a month for the child. With the current system it is assumed that childs needs can be covered by some £440???

Also if the father has a company or is self employed, it has to be looked at properly! People are clearly abusing the system and also a tax man to try and cover up just so they don't have to pay more child maintenance. The cost of living and energy prices has increased dramatically! Costs are higher by 30% and 50% on a lot of things and the child maintenance nor the child support has increased!

The mothers are suffering, the children are suffering and the fathers are not taking any responsibility! The government needs to start looking at the bigger picture of all of this huge problem. The NHS has endless lists with mothers suffering mentally and from stress because of all of this.

Who can we rely on if no one who can change this is listening to us???
