Facebook, can I have my business back please?
Meta should have mechanisms in place to support businesses that are affected by hacking of their professional accounts.
Why is this important?
I cannot access my professional Meta accounts because my personal Facebook account was hacked. This seems absurd to me as my livelihood depends on my professional Instagram. Meta must improve customer relations for those of us in this situation.
Here's what happened: I woke up one morning to several emails from Facebook showing attempts to log into my account (I had two factor authentication turned on). There was also an email saying my account had been suspended for not following community standards and two emails saying my video was ready. I clicked on 'secure your account' on one of the login attempt emails, but sure enough the account had already been suspended because something had been posted 'sexualising children' (whaaaat?). There was a link to appeal, but it was only an opportunity to upload my ID, which I did. Later that day I received another email from Facebook saying they had reviewed my case and and determined I was ineligible to use Facebook. I then tried several other forms which when I click send either ask me to login to Facebook (ironic) or that they don't have enough reviewers because of the pandemic and they can't review my case (the form doesn't even send). Anything via Instagram is impossible because it refers me to Facebook or asks me to login. I cannot speak to an actual human to try and explain what my issue is. At this point I'm no longer interested in restoring my Facebook account, but I need my professional accounts restored.
I can't even download my professional account's data or set up a new account. I'm dead to Meta and that's that. This feels like a burglar has come into my house, set fire to it and the police are not listening. I'm stuck in an Escher loop of doom.
A little history on my business: it's a hand dyeing yarn company with a global presence. I built it from the ground up, starting in the kitchen of my one bedroom flat 12 years ago. I employ people who depend on the success of my business for their livelihoods. I have several suppliers and retailers (we wholesale too) who would also be affected if my business suddenly wasn't doing so well. And of course all our lovely customers worldwide who I'm sure would miss our products.
So far we have managed to weather:

Brexit
A global pandemic
The current cost of living crisis
All of these have had an impact on my business, but we are still going strong. Can we survive this current adversity? I don't know and I'm scared, but I'm here, fighting to keep it going.
