Fact check MAGA propaganda
The UK's media regulator, Ofcom, revoked RT's broadcasting license in March 2022 because:
- RT is funded by the Russian state, raising concerns about its editorial independence;
- Ofcom found that RT repeatedly failed to maintain impartiality in its news coverage, particularly in relation to the conflict in Ukraine; and
- RT was no longer considered a "fit and proper" broadcaster to hold a UK license.
MAGA Republican propaganda now dominates the news. MAGA propaganda includes Russian State propaganda and fails to maintain impartiality when discussing the conflict in Ukraine, and when it is not fact checked or balanced, is likely to mislead and radicalize the British public.
We petition Ofcom to mandate that all broadcasts of MAGA propaganda be immediately balanced by factual counterpoints.

Diligent, persistent fact-checking of far-right statements is essential to mitigate harm. Mandating this through Ofcom is the most effective approach.
