Free school transport

I would be greatful if you could help our situation please, Being a Welsh parent and living 30 minutes from our school, I feel school transport should be free, especially to those who are struggling financially. I’m shocked today as I received an email again to say that I have to pay £130.20 for both my children to purchase a seat on the school bus, that’s a £260.40 for my children to have the option of a Welsh education I believe personally they should have. I and other parents at the bus stop struggle to pay this as we have more than one children at the school or are financially struggling. There are parents at the school bus stop and the one before us (closer to the school) who get the bus seats for free as their children were in the school all ready before the rules changed. Or are parents who live like 1 or two doors away from the other parents. I have did the walk to school many of times and it’s a good half hour, rain, snow, boiling hot sun and my children would be soaking all day throughout the school day as of the bad weather. And it’s not a safe route for our children to travel on twice a day. I would also take public transport but there is none available that goes right outside the school. This was my last option of getting these rules changed. Please could you take the time to consider helping us parents give our children the Welsh education they deserve at a lower cost, I physically can’t afford to pay £260.40 every year for their bus seats. Children should be able to travel to school for free.
