Full Fibre (FFTP) for Ardersier

As a concerned resident of Ardersier, where it is evident that our community is experiencing rapid growth in both residential and commercial sectors. As such, the limitations posed by our current outdated copper lines for internet connectivity have become increasingly apparent and are adversely impacting the quality of life for the residents of our village.

In this digital age, where reliance on the internet has become a fundamental aspect of both personal and professional endeavours, it is imperative that we address the pressing need to upgrade our existing infrastructure to meet the demands of the modern world. The current copper lines are no longer capable of sustaining the needs of our growing community, causing significant drops in internet speeds and unreliable connections, especially during peak usage times.

Ardersier is not only home to numerous families but also hosts a burgeoning business sector and educational institutions. With the dependency on the internet extending beyond mere recreational activities to essential functions such as remote learning, online business operations, and even basic entertainment services, it has become increasingly challenging for residents to carry out everyday tasks seamlessly.

The current average internet speed of 61 Mbps, which further dwindles to a mere 3 Mbps during peak hours, is a far cry from what is necessary to facilitate efficient communication, smooth video streaming, online gaming, and seamless educational experiences for our children. This limitation in internet access is hindering our ability to fully utilize the potential of modern technologies and is proving to be a significant obstacle in the way of progress for our village.

It is, therefore, my earnest request that Openreach takes urgent action to install a Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network in our village. By replacing the outdated copper lines with a full-fibre infrastructure, we can ensure that every household and business in Ardersier has access to reliable, high-speed internet, thus enabling us to meet our daily needs without unnecessary hindrances or disruptions.

I sincerely hope that you will consider the plight of our community and take necessary steps to initiate the installation of a robust fibre-optic network. Your prompt attention to this matter will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and prosperity of our village, fostering an environment where residents, businesses, and educational institutions can thrive in the digital era.

Thank you for your time and attention to this crucial matter.
