Funding Mental Health
Please find the time to look into the funding for Mental Health in Montgomeryshire. Relying on scant grant funding is an enormous strain on staff that could be helping one-to-one and the grants are time limited and run out before the real impact can be felt. We need a 5 or 15 year plan with access to open debate and a groundswell of opinion from service users themselves. I'm sure that people want their voices heard and to be fairly represented. I am a service user myself. They have saved so many lives - let's save far more. Our reach should be secure. Our futures need to provide hope, security and action. Please could you kindly look into this. Thank you.
Why is this important?
The waiting lists are frustrating to say the least. Ponthafen in Newtown and Welshpool cannot properly heat their buildings for group activities. Staff are there and do their utmost to support whilst wondering where the next funding will provide for the basics, like wages, without them many people including myself would not be here. We rely on their assistance for everything from Housing Applications to learning how to cook. They do so much for so many with so little.
I do not use social media platforms as I find them a confusing and frankly toxic environment. Mental Health is a hard thing to deal with. Day to Day is often enough. Please could as many people sign this as possible. Lives are at risk. Services over streatched. Lets not let anyone slip through the net. If you or anyone else has suffered a period of Mental Health then please could you sign this as a matter of urgency. 1 in 4 people will suffer a mental health crises at some point in their lives. Post Covid statistics will show the numbers are rising.
