Get the Jacket potato wagon back outside the art gallery, pronto!!
Hello, I’m Sara and I’m old now but before I wasn’t. When I wasn’t old, I used to enjoy a fairly substantial shin dig in “Ye Olde York” before heading home, via the art gallery for the largest serving of carbohydrates any city has ever seen in a single sitting.
Since the departure of the Jacket potato wagon, we have denied the youth/ tourists of the city a local treasure, a local legend, and we have denied them BOVRIL!!!
The Jacket Potato Wagon sat in a magnificent spot. Illuminated gently and romantically by the ambient hue of the lights within the fountain of York Art Gallery. Sometimes, whilst standing in my bare feet with a warm polystyrene steaming tray of heaven, I was transported to Rome....
.......(I haven’t been to Rome, to be fair, but did go to Skegness once when I was 10 and it was quite lovely)
We need this wagon back in the city! We WILL support you during these difficult times. Bring the potatoes back to the people!!! !!!!!!!
