Get TikTok to sort their AI "moderation" out.

TikTok's current moderation system is failing its users. Across the platform, creators and everyday users report false violations, wrongful restrictions, account suspensions, and appeals that appear to be automatically denied without meaningful review.

We support moderation that protects users and removes harmful content. However, moderation must be fair, transparent, and accountable. No user should lose access to their account, content, or livelihood because of inaccurate AI decisions.

We call on TikTok to completely reform its moderation system and introduce a fair process that puts people before automation.

We demand that TikTok:

  •  End reliance on AI-only moderation for account restrictions, strikes, and bans.
  •  Guarantee human review for all appeals involving restrictions, suspensions, or permanent account actions.
  •  Provide clear explanations for every moderation decision, including the exact rule allegedly violated.
  •  Give users access to evidence used in moderation decisions where possible.
  •  Introduce an independent second appeal process for disputed cases.
  •  Publish regular transparency reports on moderation accuracy and appeal outcomes.
  •  Audit AI systems for errors, bias, and false positives.
  •  Protect creators and businesses from wrongful enforcement that can impact income and reputation.
  •  Ensure no appeal is automatically rejected without genuine review.

AI should assist moderators—not replace fairness, accountability, and due process.

Millions of users rely on TikTok to create, learn, communicate, and run businesses. A moderation system that wrongly punishes innocent users undermines trust in the platform and harms communities.

We are not calling for less moderation. We are calling for better moderation: a system that protects users while respecting fairness, transparency, and the right to appeal unjust decisions.

TikTok must replace its current moderation model with one that is accurate, transparent, and accountable to the people who use it.

Why is this important?

As a creator and agency owner working with multiple TikTok creator networks, I witness firsthand the growing impact of TikTok's unfair AI moderation system. Every day, creators—including myself—are forced to battle repeated false restrictions and violations that should never have been issued in the first place.

It has become common for creators to receive between four and ten restrictions or violations per day, many of which are later overturned on appeal. This raises serious concerns about the accuracy and reliability of TikTok's moderation system.

The problem extends far beyond individual creators. Agencies managing multiple accounts spend countless hours submitting appeals, chasing reviews, and dealing with disruptions caused by automated moderation errors. For creators who rely on TikTok for income, these mistakes can affect their livelihoods, growth, and ability to reach their audiences.

If creators within a handful of networks are experiencing this level of false enforcement every day, imagine how many thousands of creators worldwide may be facing the same issue.

We support moderation that keeps users safe, but moderation must also be fair, transparent, and accountable. AI should assist human moderators—not replace them entirely. Users deserve meaningful appeals, clear explanations, and decisions that are made accurately.

TikTok has a responsibility to reform its moderation system so that creators are protected from repeated false enforcement and can use the platform without fear of unjust restrictions.
