GPSurvival insist that RCGP revoke the invitation of Julia Hartley-Brewer to Annual conference

Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) have invited the broadcaster and journalist Julia Hartley-Brewer to be a speaker at their 2019 annual conference.

This person has expressed views that are highly controversial regarding immigration and expressed that she could not see anything in the ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech that he had got wrong; see https://mobile.twitter.com/juliahb1/status/775448373218406400?lang=en

We GPs (both RCGP members and non-members) feel inclusion of a person who holds such views being invited to speak to conference is an insult to the thousands of international doctors who have come to work as GPs in the NHS.

We call on the RCGP to revoke this invitation and our signature below indicates that those of us who are members will consider resignation from the RCGP or boycott the conference if she is allowed a platform for her views,

Why is this important?

Her expressed views are not in keeping with the ethos of general practice and are offensive to many colleagues
