Grant permission for a commercial use for Caverswall Castle
Grant planning consent for a commercial use as a wellbeing retreat/hotel spa to Caverswall Castle to help fund its ongoing preservation costs, create jobs and maintain the historic building.
Stop hindering progress and issue planning permission granted as the planning commitee voted unanimously in favour in January and permission has still not been fully granted.

Why is this important?
Caverswall Castle is an historical Grade-I listed property dating back to the 13th century. 97% of country houses and historic royal palaces, are used commercially to generate revenue for their specialist maintenance and repair.
SMDC planning need to be made aware of the support for such a hotel/spa use within the local population, and that a commercial future is in the local communities and Castles best interests.
The Castle is suffering serious neglect due to lack of use, and funds to maintain.
Without permission to put Caverswall Castle to use and generate much needed funds for urgent repairs and preservation, this important piece of Staffordshire's heritage is at serious risk of decay and decline.
