Harden Sanctions on ALL Hate Crime
We are urging the government to review what sanctions are in place relating to all hate crime directed towards any minority group of people.
As an LGBTQ+ Pride movement we stand with all minority groups against hate. Whether the crime is because of your race, ethnicity, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation , sex or gender identity.
More needs to be done to prosecute the bigots delivering hate whether it be verbal, physical or online.
Hate crime significantly impacts the lives of the LGBTQ+ community and with a significant rise in hate towards our Trans family we must stand together as 1 community and spread Pride not Hate.
We also urge the government to recognise the messaging in events, literature and posts from extreme organisations whose sole purpose is to split up the LGBTQ+ community and deliver hurtful hate that is and should be recognised as hate crime.

Why is this important?
According to a recent Stonewall survey:
- One in five LGBT people have experienced a hate crime or incident because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity in the last 12 months.
- Two in five trans people have experienced a hate crime or incident because of their gender identity in the last 12 months.
- Four in five anti-LGBT hate crimes and incidents go unreported, with younger LGBT people particularly reluctant to go to the police.
And that's not all the prosecution rate is minimal and this is because those responsible are not being brought to justice and being let off with a slap on the wrist!
Hate crime hurts, hate crime is not acceptable In any form directed at any person or group of people. Harder sanctions are needed to put a stop to it!
