Help the homeless, not the tourism!!!

Rather than spending thousands of pounds on a POINTLESS new "mermaid feature"

Why not use that money to support our homeless? Police are telling businesses not to feed the homeless due to not being able to provide a phone number for track and trace, but will turn a blind eye to one sleeping rough in this awful wet weather?

Where is the compassion?
Who decided we needed to prioritise a stupid unnecessary STATUE over other important things?

People are physically dying due to covid. How are our homeless supposed to fend for themselves if they catch covid?

Why is this important?

We already know people working 30 hours plus etc are struggling on furlough, we know people are dying of covid, depression, loneliness and isolation. We know that this is probably going to be one of the hardest times of our lives.

So what about the homeless? We're here thinking oh poor us because we can't work. What about the people who wouldn't stand a chance if they caught covid?

It's unfair and its CRUEL. I'm disgusted that Blackpool council are spending thousands of pounds on pointless ornaments and statues when we have more pressing things at hand.

It seems completely irresponsible and a huge kick in the teeth to Blackpool residents who actually care.
