Home office should not keep applications undecided for more than the stipulated time frame.

The home office should not leave applications undecided for more than the stipulated timeframe.

Home office has been in possession of applications for asylum, indefinite leave to remain and naturalisation for more than the required time.

Most often, the applicants do not receive a response to their application until after raising a complaint which in most cases nothing is ever resolved.

It makes no sense for applicants to pay such ridiculous amount of fees and still just have to wait forever without knowing what is happening.

Most applicants live on a minimum wage and most times they use their whole savings to pay these fees.

In addition, when these applications are ignored or abandoned, it means that they applicant needs to get a solicitor to chase them which cost alot of money.
This therefore means, those who cannot afford it will be silenced and ignored forever.

Why is this important?

It is important to me because the application fees are high and the applicants end up not getting value for their money. Instead they tend to pay additional costs to get an immigration solicitor to chase the home office.

This should not be the case. Let the services be free at all times at the point of delivery and this is only possible if these applications are dealt with within a reasonable time frame and not exceeding the stipulated time frame under any circumstances.

If applications cannot be decided within the stipulated time frame or may take longer, my question is how long is longer?
It is not specified. Is it 10years, 5 years, 6 months after exceeding the stipulated time frame?
If applications remain undecided after 6months, there should be a specified time frame applicants should receive a response.
This is a frustrating situation
