Improved Bus Service in Southeast London
Improved bus service between Crystal Palace/Dulwich and East Dulwich
Why is this important?
As is typical in South London, it can be more straightforward to travel to Central London than it is to get across one part of South London to the next.
Currently to get from Dulwich Wood Avenue to East Dulwich via Lordship Lane entails catching 3 buses. The very irregular 450, which at times can be in 15 minute intervals, the very irregular 363 on Sydenham Hill with waits of up to ten minutes. Finally the 176 or 185 on Lordship Tavern.
By car, the school run would take 10-15 minutes. By bus, it can take up to 45 minutes. This is just wrong and puts extra pressure and stress on those with kids attending school in that area.
What we require is a direct bus service connecting Crystal Palace to East Dulwich via Lordship Lane. This would make the journey quicker and easier and should help to reduce the need to drive, thus removing traffic from the local roads.
