Introduce Speed Restriction on A980 Beltie Road (Sundayswells)

Petition the Local Authority, Police Scotland and constituent MSP to take action to reduce the speed limit on the A980, western approach to Torphins, where currently it's a 40mph zone.

Why is this important?

We, the residents of the area (also known locally as Sundayswells) have long campaigned for necessary action to be taken due to the built up nature of the stretch, also leading down Beltie Road.
We believe a 30mph zone is required in addition to enforcement of the limit by Police Scotland.
We, the residents, believe this is a very dangerous stretch of road with multiple dwellings roadside, and is used as a footpath and cycle path for young.
Recent events of a car leaving the road and ending up down a bank prove that not enough due care and attention is given by road users. Only by reducing this speed limit may we see a reduction in the speed cars and heavy good vehicles pass by our community.
