Laïcité for British Schools

Dear Minister, please adopt the principle of Laïcité for schools in England and Wales. Ensure that the government does not favour any religious organisation in particular or religious organisations in general when it comes to the education of our children.

Why is this important?

As we have seen from the recent cases in Birmingham the hotchpotch of free schools, academies, local authority schools, all of which may or may not be religiously based has led to the situation where Entryists can insinuate themselves into schools in order to further their ideology.

We need to institute Laicism in our schools in the same way it has been done in countries such as France and Finland in order to minimise the opportunity of such Entryism, and at the same time insist on robust, local oversight for schools.
