Lambeth Hospital development

Listen to residents concerns about the proposed development of Lambeth Hospital on Landor Road

Why is this important?

We, the undersigned, object to the current proposals for the redevelopment of the Lambeth Hospital site on Landor Road, comprising 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9 storey blocks and an 18 storey tower. Our main objections are as follows:

The proposed buildings are not in keeping with historical or existing buildings on the site, or the surrounding 2 and 3 storey terraced housing in terms of height, density, massing, and architectural style.
All of the new buildings will negatively impact our quality of life, in particular given their proximity to the site boundary, by causing lack of light, light pollution at night, and loss of privacy due to overlooking our gardens, bedrooms, and living spaces.
This low rise residential area is not an appropriate location for an 18 storey tower.
Adding another 1,000 people in this location will put further pressure on local infrastructure, including an already dangerously overcrowded tube station and over subscribed GP surgeries.
A development of this size will add significantly to the high traffic congestion and pollution on Landor Road and the surrounding streets.
