Make petrol prices cheaper in Barnsley

We have been working alongside 38 degrees and Stephanie Peacock, the MP for Barnsley East, to encourage local providers to lower their petrol prices to fairer levels.

To illustrate this, the cost of a litre of unleaded in Barnsley this week is around 146.9.

Compare this with the 142.9p paid by motorists in desirable London suburbs such as Knightsbridge or the 143.5 paid by Premier League footballers living in leafy Cheshire.

Even motorists in neighbouring towns and cities are paying up to 4p a litre less than we are in Barnsley.

Infuriatingly, no-one seems to be able to give a rational explanation for this.

Drivers are, quite literally, being taken for a ride by the petrol companies - and it’s time the brakes were put on their profiteering.

Why is this important?

We want to lower the prices of petrol across Barnsley.

The country is in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis, and Barnsley residents are some of the hardest-hit.

By signing the petition, we hope those responsible will finally take notice.
