Move Hairmyres Train Station

Hairmyres train station does not have enough parking places at the moment and subsequently people are using the parking facilities at Hairmyers Hospital. A new housing estate is currently under construction at Jackton and as people are being encouraged to use the train service for environmental reasons, this will only add to this problem. There is available land at the bottom of St James's Retail Park which not only could accommodate a train station, but also has room for 500 parking places. This is approximately 200m from Hairmyres and would elevate the current problems, which are only going to get worse.
