MPs leaving Political Parties should call for by-elections in their constituencies

MPs who leave their parties should ensure that they are fairly representing their constituents by calling for a by-election for their seats and running as Independents

Why is this important?

Many UK constituents voted for their MPs because they represented the political party that they support. MPs who have left their party should respect their constituents by offering to stand in a by-election. This will prove that they are still driven entirely by the desire to fairly represent the wishes of the majority in their constituency, and not by their own agendas

Reasons for signing

  • Just 6% of Labour voters in a poll said that they voted because of their local MP. Most voted because of Corbyn and the left wing manifesto. These MPs have let their voters down and should seek re-election.
  • The parliamentary voting record of this group of seven is absolutely clear. Every single one of these MP's refused to oppose Tory austerity and have voted with the Tories on welfare cuts. They have NO place in the Labour party...
  • Even Douglas Carswell, the Tory who defected to UKIP had the decency to resign and fight a by-election.
