Compulsory ID checks for gambling

Photo by Carl Raw on Unsplash
I have a gambling addiction, and I have done everything possible to stop gambling and take it out from my life. I have self-excluded myself from all the gambling shops in UK and online and as of today I can say that it doesn’t work. When you walk into the shops they do not ask you for ID verification, they still allow you to play, and no one gets responsibility for that. I would like all the gambling industry to do them job properly and ask for id to any one before even allowing to play to check if the person is self excluded even if they look over 18 because now they don’t do it and a lot of people who is self excluded is still losing their money and obviously they don’t want to gamble if they have self excluded themselves but industry don’t do them job properly

Why is this important?

Because it is ruining peoples lives and they are afraid to speak up about it ,because clearly they realise that they have a gambling problem and if the industry is doing their job these people will be safe and able to recover from their mental health issues because gambling is a big mental illness and people don't talk about it enough
