MRI scans in Scotland for Occular Melanoma Sufferers
At present people in Scotland who are suffering from Occular Melanoma do not have access to MRI scans to check progress of the illness, particularly to check their livers as this the most common part of the body any spread of the disease can be detected, At the moment these patients are only offered an ultrasound scan which does not offer the same detection as MRI scans. NHS Scotland must be pressurised to provide access to MRI scans for these unfortunate people.
Why is this important?
This is important to me personally as my son is one of the people suffering from this illness and he has already lost the site in one of his eyes, so I feel I must do anything I can to end this scandalous situation.
