Naga’s treatment by the BBC
A complaint against Naga Munchetty to the BBC has been upheld by their disciplinary board. Naga stated that she was furious about Trump’s racist ‘send them back’ comments against 4 Congress women. Naga expressed reasonable outrage saying the comment disgusted her. The judgement will have the effect of legitimising racist speech when all racism should be denounced at every level in our society, and particularly in the media, as divisive and evil. The BBC should reverse this judgement with immediate effect.
Why is this important?
It is the responsibility of all to stand against and denounce openly and clearly expressed racism. All reasonable and moral people are appalled at racism and should stand against it at every opportunity. I support and uphold Naga in her denunciation of unequivocally racist comment as would any one with any decency. Shame on the BBC.
