New statue in Bristol

Provide the funding and cast the statue "A Surge of Power (Jen Reid) 2020" by artist Marc Quinn in bronze and make it a permanent installation on the plinth previously occupied by the statue of slave trader Edward Colston Which was toppled on 7 June 2020

Why is this important?

It would be a fitting memorial to the African slave trade and a recognition that the wealth of the UK and cities like Bristol was created directly from the persecution and enslavement of other human beings.
