NHS hospitals must urgently take measures to reduce temperatures on wards

Install temporary air conditioners ( and later on permanent ones) and fans. Allow staff shorter shifts, proper breaks and to have water on tap to prevent them suffering heat stroke and dehydration. Patients need to be adequately hydrated also and monitored for any signs of adverse reactions to heat.

Why is this important?

Nurses are reported to be suffering heat exhaustion including dizziness and nausea. Confusion is also causing them problems dealing with patients. Older patients and vulnerable patients of all varieties are in danger of dying in overheated wards/other areas of the hospitals.
