NHS Surcharge Fees

To scrap the NHS Surcharge Fees for those already granted permission to remain in the UK. While renewing their application they have to pay £1000 + application fees totalling over £2000. While the surcharge is necessary for other categories I don't see how it makes sense for people already working in this country paying taxes, national insurance, and for their own prescriptions. People's access to public services should not be restricted, while they are paying tax and national insurance. I believe the home office should review these procedures.

Why is this important?

It is important so applicants that have family in the UK don't go into debt and are not able to feed their family whenever they extend their stay because the renewal fees is almost 2 months worth of their wages.
