No Cuts to Social Care for Disabled People

Oxfordshire Disabled People Against Cuts
We oppose Oxfordshire County Council's decision to cut social care support for disabled people by:
  • Scrapping free council-arranged transport introducing a £10 daily fee
  • Charging £9.87 for the previously free telecare system, which helps people live independently in their homes
  • Cutting the disability-related expenditure (DRE) allowance from 35% to 25%

Why is this important?

Disabled people have already borne the brunt of austerity cuts over the past 16 years including huge cuts to the health element of Universal Credit that began in April this year.

We demand that the council scraps these callous cuts that will further impoverish and isolate disabled people.

These cuts will further impoverish and isolate disabled people.
