No to the Tolpuddle Martyrs tree being dedicated to the Queen

To the National Trust and Nigel Costley of the South West TUC.
The plans to dedicate the Tolpuddle martyrs tree to the Queen is an affront to those who paid a high price to build our trade unions.
The Martyrs tree is symbolic of the struggle of working people to demand their rights and fight for a better world . The queen is one of the richest people in the UK whose family are mired in huge scandals. The queen just recently invited personally the foul dictator of Bahrain to watch the horse racing with her. A regime who won’t allow trade unions. The royal family live a lifestyle unimaginable in its wealth whilst millions in the UK are driven into poverty.
We are shocked that this awful proposal to make the martyrs tree a symbol not of resistance to the rich and powerful but one of bowing down beneath it . That this proposal is backed by the current regional sec of the South West TUC is something that cannot go unchallenged.
We call for this proposal to be scrapped.

Why is this important?

Keep the Martyrs tree as a symbol of resistance to wealth and power and not one of bowing down to it .

How it will be delivered
