Open up empty buildings in Belfast

So we got the response back from the council and it appears to be a fob off. This, however has not deterred us from seeking other avenues. Our councillor contact has been very useful and informative since this email was sent back to me:

Gary,

Sorry for delay. Things been a bit hectic. I met with council about the empty buildings. They have informed me there are some council buildings but they are either listed or are small park houses around the city. I have been informed there is nothing available in the city centre that's owned by the council.

We are currently going to be in contact with Unite in reference to an empty building. We also have a meeting tomorrow evening which will have NIHE, Council and other Statuary bodies there so i will be asking the question directly in reference to this petition as this will be an open discussion!

So we handed our petition in this morning to Suzanne Wylie who is the Chief Executive of the Council for Belfast city council. I want to just thank everyone that has gotten behind this petition and signed it. The response has been nothing short of amazing! We will now continue to keep you updated on the progress of the hand in. We are in contact with an important councillor to get updates on there discussions so as we receive them you will receive them. No longer will the people be held in the dark. Just a quick update to all of you that have signed. The council have been in touch with reference to this petition and are planning on discussing opening up a couple of empty buildings for our guys. However i would like you all to continue signing this and sharing this far and wide! The response we have had on this has been astronomical and i would love to personally thank every single last person that signs this and those that are about to sign this for the support they have shown or about to show.
