People are not pests

Southern Rail have removed the offensive posters so this petition is no longer relevant.

The immediate removal of all “Security” notices telling people not to encourage begging by giving money.

Why is this important?

The signatories of this petition wish to register our disgust at Southern Rail treating people begging at stations as pests. These people have slipped through the widening cracks of our society through bad luck and deserve to be treated with dignity and compassion, not as a nuisance.
We demand an apology from Southern Rail and the immediate removal of all “Security” notices telling people not to encourage begging by giving money.
