Petition for a pump track in Shoebury park
Hi there. Myself and 3 others are a group of 4 friends who started the work over at the dirt jumps in Shoebury park. We have worked alongside the council to bring some dirt jumps to a local park free to use by anyone learning or experienced in riding.
There is a part of the filed that we are in that is mainly unused other than wildflower growing during the summer for the bees. This is a small part of the wildflower gardens in Shoebury park and by any means only about 10% of Thier total wildflower areas.
For this part of the field we would like to get a purpose built pump track, or continue to build more dirt jumps. Either way we need the council to realise the potential for growth in the local area and focus on a sport that is now generating much interest with the likes of events like redbull rampage.

Why is this important?
With the new appointment of city status for Southend we feel there is a lack of local spaces like dirt jumps and pump tracks. Hadleigh was used for the Olympics but it's not always accessible for everyone further afield. What we aim for is a hub in Shoebury park focused on riding. We currently have our dirt jumps that we built plus a small trials section and a small skatepark. This will gain business for the local area and that in turn can only generate positive feelings and hopefully bring more footfall to the local area.
How it will be delivered
We aim to take this to the council and move forward with them to bring the plans for a pump track into a reality.
