Petition UK Government to put a stop to UK farmers keeping animals in despicable conditions
Improve The Welfare of Farmed Animals (England) Regulations 2007
Why is this important?
The February 2017 exposure of the horrendous conditions for pigs at the Lambrook Pig Unit at Lamyatt, Somerset appalled many thousands of people across the UK, not least because the conditions shown in the video evidence were largely legal under the law as it stands at present.
No reasonable person could possibly accept that the conditions shown at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=577DEdDxRek should be allowed by law in the United Kingdom in the twenty first century. This video evidence clearly identifies a need for an urgent and substantive amendment to The Welfare of Farmed Animals (England) Regulations 2007 to introduce even a modicum of decency in terms of basic conditions for farm animals in the UK
