Post-Referendum Election on Leaving EU

If the result of the referendum is to leave the EU, parliament should be dissolved and a general election called regardless of fixed term parliament legislation.
The UK would be in a very different situation and government should seek a new mandate from the public.

Why is this important?

Most mainstream parties have campaigned against leaving the EU so it is not proper they carry on uninterrupted without seeking a new mandate.
Indeed these parties have specifically warned against leaving the EU.
In any case members of parliament with conscience could consistently vote to trigger a vote of no confidence in the government.
