Save the GreenBelt in Irlam & Cadishead

Reconsider plans to re-designate 1.95 million square metres of GreenBelt land for housing and Industrial use.

Why is this important?

The Salford Local Plan & The Greater Manchester Spatial Framework set out to re-designate 1.95 million square metres of Grade One Greenbelt agricultural land for housing and industrial use.
Salford City Council and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority are currently consulting on plans to build approximately 1400 houses to the West of Irlam and Cadishead on Grade One Agricultural Greenbelt land along with an additional 320`000m2 of warehousing to the East on Greenbelt land also.
The loss of this land would be hugely significant to the farming capabilities of this district & would see an increase in population by 2500-3500.
The Current infrastructure of this linear town with only one access & egress point to the East & West is at breaking point and with no plans in place to support such a huge increase in population, these plans cannot be accepted in their current form.
Please sign and share this campaign, it is vitally important the communities of Irlam & Cadishead have their voices heard.
