Provision of full-time Reception places by 21st September
Steyning Primary to revert back to their normal Reception transition schedule taking into account the children did not have a settling in session prior to the summer holidays.
Week commencing 14th September:
- Monday and Tuesday 1hr settling in sessions
- Wednesday to Friday half days
Week commencing 21st September:
- full time, with the option to continue with half days for those parents that feel it more appropriate for their child.

Why is this important?
1) Enable parents to work - the current timetable is unworkable for full-time working parents.
2) Help settle the children better - the current timetable will require parents to share childcare, placing children in environments they are unfamiliar with. This will add to the stress of starting at a new a school. The school created the timetable to help children settle better. However, it is believed the opposite will be true if parents are seeking out childcare from unfamiliar providers.

How it will be delivered
