Publish the postal vote count separately at elections and referendums

Change the rules so that postal votes are counted separately from ordinary signed ballot papers and the postal voting result be published separately from total votes.

Why is this important?

Given widespread concerns about the potential for electoral fraud being easier to perpetrate through postal voting than 'in-person' voting, we propose that postal votes be counted separately from the 'in-person' vote and the numbers for each count be published when the results are declared.

Reasons for signing

  • This won't stop fraud but will at least highlight it. Many critical elections - eg Farage's loss at last election - have been swung by postal votes
  • I expect this to ?
  • Adoption of this protocol would greatly enhance the trustworthiness of the election process in the UK.
