Reduce Transgender waiting lists
I want waiting times to be reduced for those seeking help to transition. Waiting times for under 18s is around 2 years and adults 3 years. In this time no support or guidance is given. If you are unlucky enough to be 16 when placed on the under 18 list you are then moved to the adult list and start again result to over 5 years of waiting without so much as a phone call to acknowledge what you are going through.
Why is this important?
My son (f2m) has struggled for over 6 years and has had no support. After suicide attempts, self harm and severe mental health issues he still has had no contact. He is now raising funds to go private.
