Regulation of the funeral directors industry.

In the last ten years the the industry has been allowed to increase its charges by 122%, far in excess of the rate of inflation. Why has this been allowed to happen, purely by virtue of the industry been unregulated. As someone who has been recently bereaved I could not believe how much the service cost. One would almost suspect that a cartel was in operation!

Why is this important?

I am aware that many people would regard the present fee structure as extortionate at a time of deep grief when finances are under severe strain and emotional blackmail is able to be put in place. It is high time that this iniquity is stamped out. This is especially relevant at a time when a pandemic might befall the country
