To: Michael Gove Minister for the Environment

Reinstate animal sentience as enshrined in EU law in the laws to be absorbed in UK law upon Brexit.

Reverse the decision to remove the fact that animals are sentient from the laws being transferred from the EU into British law. Animals can and do feel pain and emotion and this is supported by years of animal studies by the science community. The RSPCA deny government claims that sentience is covered by the animal welfare act 2006 and say it is not mentioned in the act. The only reason for removing this from law is to open the doors to more animal testing as well as a return to fox hunting. Please sign this petition demanding sentience is restored to the bill.

Why is this important?

It is important to avoid the loss of progress made in animal welfare that has been made in recent decades.
