Remove the option of commercial confidence from organisations bidding for and operating NHS services
Dear Secretary of State,
Please will you ensure full transparency and equality in the commissioning and operation of NHS services by removing the option of commercial in confidence clauses for some organisations and not others?
This change will make the bidding process more open and fair to all as well as ensuring that there is full accountability in all aspects of the operation of the public NHS services.

Why is this important?
At present the process of commissioning for aspects of local NHS services is not equal or fully transparent as commercial organisations can avoid full disclosure of their detailed bid by pleading 'commercial confidence'. This option is not available for former public NHS providers.
If this concession was removed for all information relating to the bidding for and operation of all NHS services, it would create a level playing field for the commissioning process and full transparency in the audit of these public services.
This petition is on behalf of the Coastal West Sussex 38 Degrees Health Action Group.
