Repair the Oldbury Court Estate River Path

Repair the Oldbury Court Estate river path!
(In collaboration with Friends of Oldbury Court Estate)
(In collaboration with Friends of Oldbury Court Estate)
Every time it has rained this winter, the river path has flooded. The River Frome gushes through a small gap in the river bank and floods the pathway between Snuff Mills and Oldbury Court.
When the path gets flooded, more of it washes away. There is a short-term repair that can be cheaply undertaken by Bristol City Council:
Plug the gap where the river runs in, channel the water back into the river, and slightly raise/restore the footpath.
Waiting until there are sufficient funds to undertake a large-scale repair means that more costly work will be needed because so much damage is currently happening every day. We need a short term repair now, followed by a survey available to the public about what further works are needed.

Why is this important?
Hundreds of people use this public right of way path every day to get to school, work, shops, visit family or simply to walk in the Park. When flooded, the path is unsafe and impassable. This has a huge effect on everyday life, extending the time is takes to get to work and school and limiting all park activities.
Raise awareness by signing the petition, so that local residents can use the river path again!
