Repairs to Bridge B5605 Newbridge

Repairs to Bridge B5605 Newbridge

Provide Wrexham Council funding following Storm Christoph to carry out essential repairs to the Bridge/road on the B5605 Newbridge.

Why is this important?

The B5605 provides critical road links between communities Newbridge, Cefn Mawr, Rhosymedre and Ruabon and also Chirk to the south. This is causing major disruption to local residents and businesses and also provides critical diversionary route from the A483. In the event of closures on or planned works on the A483 it means a fifteen mile division via Llangollen which is unacceptable.

Reasons for signing

  • Unbelievable that this main route between towns who share facilities and services should remain closed for the foreseeable future, not to mention forcing HGV traffic onto other unsuitable rural roads whenever the A483 is closed.
  • Unbelievable that we have to sign a petition to get this fixed. The diversion involved is putting strain on other areas and if the A483 is closed for any other reason, this is even worse.
  • I regularly commute to chirk and this is my favourite route to avoid the car park that is the A483
