Restore confidence in Bristol's planning system

We, the undersigned, have lost confidence in Bristol City Council’s planning system and seek a Full Council debate about how local planning policies and the decision-making process can be improved for the benefit of our city and its residents.

Why is this important?

Our concern is that the Bristol City Council is currently failing to deliver an effective planning service, resulting in the approval of poor quality high-rise developments that are harming the cityscape and failing to address housing need.

We urge councillors of all parties to consider the harm done when residents no longer have confidence in the city’s planning process, and when decisions are made that will cause long-term, if not irreparable, harm to Bristol’s neighbourhoods and city centre.
