Return the Elgin marbles to Greece

Return the Elgin marbles looted from the Parthenon in Athens in the 19th century.

Why is this important?

On a recent visit to Athens and the new Acropolis museum ,I became aware of the significance of these sculptures to the national cultural identity of Greece.(If a similar thing were to happen to a British monument such as Stonehenge there would be an outcry). The UK has a long and friendly history with Greece and the Greek people.Returning the sculptures would lift morale in Greece and help to strengthen that relationship.

The marbles should take their rightful place in Athens where they truly belong.
